Pete Boyle
By Dave Tooley
Pete Boyle was the bespectacled guy on the little 125ccVespa Primavera. (either bright yellow or orange, I cannot remember)
He worked as a fitter in the Aerospace division of Plessey’s at Titchfield (the same place I spent 32 years of my working life) and to my knowledge is still there now.
He was one of the more reliable and regular visitors to the club meetings, and with his engineering background was always useful as a mentor.
Pete actually came to a few race meetings after our original club folded. I am in possession of a photo (only just re-discovered after 36 years) of a very young Pete huddled up in a sleeping bag, alongside my girlfriend Jean and I inside a van at Castle Combe, with Geoff Stephens and someone lurking in the background.
