The Meeting Places of the Club
By Marten Holdway
The first Club Meeting place was the Connaught Drill Hall
complete with Toc H lamp outside the snooker room.

The drill hall was knocked down and the Gosport Library was
built in its place,
We then moved to the No Place Tavern in Stoke Road, (now
Olivers)
then another pub in Stoke Road I can't remember its name,
but it was knocked down then the
Whitworth Arms which is now a Florist
This is an Old Photo during the War it wasnt this bad when
we left it, honest.
then the John Peel in Bridgemary now it has changed its
name,

get the pattern, every where we went has now gone or
changed its name.
We had the chance of having the old Elite Club, this
would have been great it was massive
so we duly set about cleaning it up, but it never came to
anything its now a block of flats.
After this the club drifted apart as we had no base.
